Our Response Process

- Provide the user with a copy of the takedown notice
- Inform the user of their right to file a counter-notification
We typically process valid DMCA notices within 24-48 hours of receipt during business days.
Counter-Notification Process
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may file a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, phone number, and a statement that you consent to jurisdiction of federal court in your district
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original takedown notice
Restoration Process
If we receive a valid counter-notification, we will:
- Forward the counter-notification to the original complainant
- Inform the complainant that we will restore the content in 10-14 business days
- Restore the content unless the complainant files a court action seeking an injunction
- Notify all parties of our actions
Repeat Infringer Policy
Section 8 Tools maintains a policy of terminating user accounts that are repeat infringers of copyright. We track DMCA violations and will:
- Issue warnings for first-time violations
- Temporarily suspend accounts for repeated violations
- Permanently terminate accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyrights
- Remove all content posted by terminated users
Users who believe their account was terminated in error may appeal the decision by contacting our support team.
False Claims
Making false claims in DMCA notices or counter-notifications is illegal and may result in:
- Liability for damages, including attorney fees
- Potential criminal charges for perjury
